PETITION TO OPEN "THE OLD BRUXNER HWY YETMAN NSW"

OPEN THIS ROAD TO THE PUBLIC MINISTER AITCHISON

REASON FOR PETITION

This petition will be seeking  an investigation into the noncompliance of the NSW Minister for Regional Transport and Roads, The Hon Jenny Aitchison MP to reopen the Old Bruxner Hwy to the public as it had been since the late 1800’s.

  • The Minister must investigate the alleged non-compliant  conduct in order to the transfer ownership of a former federal hwy, to Yetman Pastoral Co Pty Ltd in 1985.
  • The Inverell Shire Council signed off on the sale but failed to get the consent of the Dept of Fisheries
  • The direct neighbour “Holdfast” lost its direct access to its homestead and rural holdings by consenting to the road purchase and closure in July 1985.
  • Yetman village, Yetman parish, fishermen, birdwatchers, picnickers, sightseers, cyclists, bushwalkers and the local indigenous community as well as the general public have lost direct access from Yetman Village.
  • The public access off Tucka Tucka road has an unlawful “NO TRESSSPASSING – PRIVATE PROPERTY”  sign to further mislead the public to access these magnificent public areas.  See photograph below
This Public road entering off Tucka Tuka road has an unlawful No Trespassing Private Property sign erected. This road is a public road which leads to public riverfront parkland .
The picturesque MacIntyre River has been blocked from direct access from Yetman Village.
The Old Bruxner Hwy north of Yetman now closed to through traffic by Yetman Station Pty Ltd. The public are locked out!
A Director of Yetman Station standing guard at the locked gate.
How could a road that leads from a local village be classified as unused? The closure shuts out the entire community to wonderful scenic areas.

Fisherman, birdwatchers, picnickers, horse riders, tourist, campers, the indigenous community, and the public are denied direct access from Yetman Village to this unique, picturesque and pristine paradise.
